Cariann Dureka is an illustrator with a passion for finding beauty in the small and ordinary. She grew up in the Midwest and was influenced by the environment and experiences around her— and those that she could imagine there too. She enjoys writing and creating children's and young adult narratives as well as graphic narratives. She frequently uses traditional mediums such as graphite, ink, watercolor, gouache and colored pencils—but is also well versed in digital illustration and manipulation. When she's not drawing she can most likely be found outside, reading, or in the kitchen cooking or baking vegan food.
